Treats are an important part of life for most dogs! They are excellent as part of a positive, humane training program to provide rewards and reinforcement for good behavior – and a great way to show your puppy love, as well as a bedtime-snack or other in-between-meals goodie.

Most dogs are food-motivated and will do almost anything for a tasty snack no matter how small, once they understand what’s required of them. A trainer who is experienced with positive and humane training methods can show you how to use treats to your advantage, possibly in conjunction with a clicker, which makes a distinct sound and acts as a signal that the desired behavior has been performed.

The Honest Kitchen’s treats are wheat-free, which is important for many sensitive and allergic dogs. Our treats are also free of corn, rice, beet pulp and soy, which are other common allergens for dogs. Many people think about allergens in pet food, but forget all about whet their dog might be consuming in his or her daily cookies and other treats.

Smooches, Nuzzles and Pecks are all hand-made with Barley flour as a single grain source and include other wholesome ingredients like chicken, buffalo or duck, as well as cranberries, blueberries or cherries, aged parmesan cheese, and organic virgin coconut oil. This is a powder to mix with warm water, and can be served as a warm, nourishing broth, cooled beverage after training sessions or other exertion, or frozen in ice-cube trays, to make healthy, nourishing and delicious doggie or kitty popsicles!
