Jessica Simpson Criticized for Wanting Pet Pig
It seems Jessica Simpson can’t catch a break. We all remember the media flogging she got for wearing a pair of high waisted jeans last year. Now it seems she is the latest target of PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
The singer/actress has been criticized by the group for her desire to adopt a pig. They are accusing her of flaunting pets as her “latest accessory.”
Simpson lost her dog, Daisy, last year. It’s believed the dog was snatched by a coyote.
On her Twitter page she wrote, “I’m thinking about getting a pet pig. Does this mean I’ll have to give up pork?”
PETA apparently isn’t too happy about her decision to own a farm animal.
A PETA spokesperson tells USmagazine.com, “Pigs, who are smarter than dogs and every bit as sensitive to pain and stress, don’t belong in Jessica’s stomach or carted around as her latest accessory.”
The comments come just months after Paris Hilton was slammed by PETA for adopting a pot bellied pig.
